Robert L. Lyon III Obituary

Robert (Bob) Leslie Lyon III of Glenside died June 9, 2022. He was the beloved husband for 42 years of the Rev. Beth Gassert Lyon. He is survived by a son Andrew Lyon and his wife Christina of Woodlyn, PA, and a daughter Rebecca Lyon and her husband, Cody Schoonover of Cokeville, WY. Born November 13, 1956, Bob grew up in suburban Richmond, VA and graduated from the College of William and Mary with a degree in Business Administration in 1979. He received a Certificate in Computer Programming from North Carolina State University 1983 and worked as an applications programmer from 1984 until retiring in May 2019, working for various companies in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Robert and Betty Lyon of Richmond, VA, his sister Laura Lyon Grimes of Kents Store, VA, 2 nieces and a nephew. Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, the beach, family vacations and watching the Phillies and Eagles. He was a member of Glenside United Church of Christ where he sang in the choir, played bells and helped in many quiet ways.
