She was predeceased by: her husband Cleophes; and her siblings, Mary Byers, Doris Lett, Ruth Ann Crabb, Ernest Nelson, Donald Nelson, Robert "Bobby" Nelson, James Nelson and Leon "Billy" Nelson.
She is survived by: her sons, David G. Nelson (Deborah) and Cleophes E. Townsend, Jr. (Stacey); and her sisters, Beatrice Smith, Gloria McCrary, Virginia Gresham, Viola Benson and Ella Louise Lawrence. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
