He was predeceased by: his brother Bud Ganster; his parents, Presley Smolter and Elizabeth Smolter; and his stepsister Marlene Repasky. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Patricia, Peter J. Smolter II (Kristine Spitznagel), Emily and Kendryn Schurr; the mother of his children Debra Smolter; and his siblings, Nelson Presley and Elizabeth Lang. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
