Margaret M. McDermott Obituary
Margaret McDermott, 55, went home to Heaven on Friday, August 18, 2023. Margaret (Marge) was born in Darby and was a lifelong resident of Ridley Township. She was daughter of the late Edward F. Jones, Jr. and Margaret (nee Carroll) Jones.
Marge was also predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph J. McDermott, III, and her dear brother, Edward F. Jones, III. Marge worked at Premier Orthopedics. She was the founder and president of the Chit Chat Club, enjoyed playing card games, and could always find a song especially with her mom and sisters.
She also loved to host her annual "It's a Wonderful Life" party. Marge had a zest for life and a wonderful sense of humor that made her so much fun to be around. She had a strong faith, was kind and compassionate, and was admired by all who knew her.
She was also known for her great sense of fashion. Marge loved spending time with her family and many friends, but her greatest joy in life was being Joey's mom. Marge will be remembered and cherished always.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret (nee Carroll) Jones; sisters, Marianne (Edgar) Jefferis, Helen (Mark) Stauffer, and Maureen (Michael) Estabrook; her cherished nieces and nephews, Eddie, Steven, Amimarie, Aaron, Mark Jr., Jimmy, Mary Kate, Grace, William, Danny, and Lindsey. She is also survived by her dear sister/cousin Anne Marie McElwee and many other cousins and friends. An evening viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 6pm-8pm, at Kevin Lyons & The Marvil Family Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA and on Thursday morning, August 24, 2023, from 10am-10:45am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA.
Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
