She was predeceased by: her stepfather Alfred Turmon; and her siblings, Carolyn Beard, Emma Beard, Linda Randolph and Harold L. Beard.
She is survived by: her children, Sakia Beard (Rasheed), Anthony "Squirt" Beard and Stefan Beard (Tye); her grandchildren, Amaya, Alonna, Avery and Ava; and her siblings, Lee M. Beard (Marion), Richard, Samuel, James, Leona M. Hedgepeth and Esther D. Beard.
