He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard and Evelyn; and his brother Howard, Jr.. He is survived by: his former wife Deborah; his wife Kathleen; his son Robert James; his stepson Edmund Walsh; and his sister Judy Wright (Jerold). He is also survived by numerous cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, Bob's family encourages donations in his name to Grateful Gatherings, a charity led by Bob's niece Donna.
