He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hoopes Gray and Caroline Dena Grogran; his stepfather Nelson Buckwalter; and his siblings, Jerome Gray and Susan Gray.

He is survived by: his wife Diane L. Takach Gray; his children, Edward P. Staniszewski (Kimberly) and Kelly M. Hornak (Jeffrey); his siblings, George Chip Gray (Marilyn) and Catherine LaMarch; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, Ryan and Elizabeth.
