She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Dunham, Jr. and Pearl Dunham (McCowin); and her brother John Henry "Henny" Dunham, III. She is survived by: her husband Edward L. Hughes; her son Jason Knauer (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Elijah, Owen and Olivia; her stepchildren, Michael Hughes (Stefanie) and Shawn Furr (Martin); her stepgrandchildren, Collin, Alyssa, Cayden Hughes, Christopher Furr and Shannon King; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Zoe, Sophie and Jake King; and her siblings, Paul, Dennis Dunham, Ginny Fawcett, Grace Ferguson and Betty Taylor.

A candle has been lit

“I am so deeply saddened to hear of Kay's passing. She was a good friend that I will miss. She was a huge supporter of her community and in particular her local police department. Every year she would place a display in her show room window in memory of those that lost their lives on 9/11. She researched and printed photos of fallen officers each year and displayed them at our National Night Out. The department still has those photos.. Kay will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.”
