She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence M., Sr. and Miriam E. Russell (Altland); her husband Irvin J. Shaffer; her son-in-law Merle Baughman; and her grandson Jordan Taylor.

She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Taylor (Brian), Peggy Costa (John "Mike"), Sandy Baughman and Sharon Waller (Jim); her grandchildren, Justin Taylor (Margaret "Meg") and Leslie "René" Murray; her great grandchildren, Aubrey Taylor, Giovanni Taylor, Noah Murray and Alyssa Murray; her great great grandchild Luka Murray; and her siblings, Ruth Anne Keeney, Thelma Russell, Carole Rebert (Dale) and Lawrence Russell, Jr..

Viewing was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc. - New Freedom (24 N 2nd St, New Freedom, PA 17349). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location.
