She was predeceased by: her father Myer Alpern; her husbands, Boris A. Gelman and Marvin B. Newman; her stepmother Leah Alpern; and her sister Rae Kessler.
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Gelman Kelley (Daniel) of Baltimore and Bruce S. Gelman (Dana) of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Benjamin Kelley, Robert Kelley, Brandt Gelman, Phillip Gelman and Tobyn Gelman; her great grandchildren, Maya, Hannah, Merrick and Marlo; and her sister Rochelle Glanz.
