She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Degen and Katherine Bossert Degen; and her children, Raymond (Arlene Sachleben, Ringtown), William (Ann Marie Sachleben), Shenandoah (Thomas), Kathleen (Ed Schafer, Philadelphia), Patricia David, Mahanoy Plane, Mary Ambrose and Girardville. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
