It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Humes of Girardville, Pennsylvania, born in Mahanoy Plane, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Humes (McCaffrey) and Edward Humes Sr.; his wife Ruth Humes (Green); and his siblings, Alice Umlauf and William Humes.
He is survived by: his brother Harry Humes (Nancy); his daughters, Holly Wetzel (Richard), Wendy Wallace (John) and Pam Mattu (Lou); and his grandchildren, Susan Burns, Lizzy Grow, Richard Wetzel, Amy Doolan, Sarah Herb, Zach Ellwood, Benjamin Ellwood, Jed Ellwood, Stephanie Ellwood, Annee Minor and Maggie Brodsky. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
