With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine L. Platz of Girard, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 19, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Jones and Mary Jones (Roseski); her son Thomas Platz Sr.; and her siblings, Martha Vanicek, Gladys Smisko, Margaret McDonald, Isabelle Cooper and Thomas Jones.

She is survived by: her sister Patricia Schultz; and her grandson Thomas Platz II (Sara). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kate's name may be made to the Catherine Platz Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC.
