He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mathias and Marie Mathias (DeHaven); and his siblings, John Jr., William "Bill" Mathias and Marie "Re" Bamberg.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Kellyann and Theresa "Teri"; his son-in-law David; his granddaughter Emma; his sisters, Debra "Debbie" and Therese "Terri" (Sam); his nieces, Melissa Schaffer and Kristin Mathias; and his nephew Willam "Bill" Mathias Jr.. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
