It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth I. Wirt (Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania), born in McAlisterville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 8, 2022, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Rice McCormick and Minerva Mae McCormick (Sieber); and her brothers, J. Sieber McCormick of Thompsontown, PA and Chester A. McCormick of Mifflintown, PA.. She is survived by: her children, Lowell R. (Judy Krall Wirt) of Lebanon, PA, Donald S. (Jo Anne Moyer) and Barbara J. Wirt Eisenhart (Carl) of New Berlinville, PA.; her grandchildren, Andrew L. Wirt (Tricia Batdorf Wirt), Amy R. Wirt Dutton (Dennis Dutton), Kathryn E. Wirt Bright (Jacob Bright), Valerie A. Wirt Harshman (Todd Harshman), Gregory M. Wirt (Anne Jorgensen Wirt), Michael S. Wirt, Steven C. Eisenhart and Brian K. Eisenhart; her cousin Sieber Stoner of Mifflintown, PA; and her friend Patricia Berger (Beverly Smale). She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
