He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Winkler and Oswald Winkler. He is survived by: his wife Sharon M. Winkler (Lyman); his sons, James J. Winkler (Kimberly), Scott H. Winkler (Brandi) and Christopher J. Winkler (Chantelle); his grandchildren, Jimmy, Hope (Billy), TJ (Kallie), Liza, Hudson, Tucker, Sydney, Ava and Christopher Jr.; his brother Joseph Winkler (Sis); and his siblings-in-law, Charles Raco (Jackie) and Dennis Lyman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
