It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Devere Carlson (Gibsonia, Pennsylvania), born in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 16, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Harriet Carlson (Hess). He is survived by: his wife Mary Harriett (Hess); his sons, Craig Carlson (Cheryl) of Jefferson Hills and Curt Carlson of Las Vegas, Nevada; his stepchildren, Pastor Mark Mahan (Tracy), Christy Mahan and Scott Mahan (Kathleen); and his sister Marcella Gyurke of Loretto. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, his sons have established a memorial fund with the Boys & Girls Clubs where donations will be used "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." Slater Funeral Home in Jefferson Hills followed by a burial with Military Honors in Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville, Pennsylvania next to his first wife, Mary Harriett.
