He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling W. Black and Beatrice A. Black (Chamberlin); and his brother Larry W. Black. He is survived by: his brother Jeffrey L. Black (Kay) of Gettysburg; and his sister-in-law Diane Black of York. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
