He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur J. Nelson and Margot Sylvia Nelson; his siblings, Adrienne Odegard of Homborsund, Norway, Arthur J. Nelson of Staten Island, NY and Peter Nelson of Chicago Heights, IL; and his nephew Paul Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Martha; his children, Jennifer N. Vogel (Gary) of Arlington, VA and David K. Nelson (Kristen) of Gettysburg, PA; his grandsons, Jacob, Harry, Samuel Nelson, Alexander and Benjamin Vogel; and his nieces and nephews, Susan (Joseph), James (Debbie), Karen, Eric (Unni), Peter (Elizabeth), Stephen and Kristin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Legacy Fund, Christ Lutheran Church, 44 Chambersburg St., Gettysburg.
