We are sad to announce that on August 28, 2024, at the age of 93, Mary E. Doyle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, born in Hanover, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Phares W. Harget and Helen I. Harget (Musselman); her husband Lester M. Doyle, Jr.; and her siblings, Bruce W. Harget, Robert C. Harget, Kenneth L. Harget, James F. Harget, Phares H. Harget, Donald E. Harget, Bernice Cool, Jean Tharp and Patricia Kwedar.

She is survived by: her children, Larry E. Doyle of Hanover, PA, Bonnie L. Smith of Leeds, AL, Robert J. Doyle of Mocksville, NC, Debera A. Bubb of Glenville, PA, Stephen L. Doyle of Abbottstown, PA and Rodney A. Doyle of Hanover, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's name to St. David's United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.

“So now Lester and Mary can once again dance together in the heavens where all such good people go in the end. I’ll forever remember seeing them take the dance floor at Aubree’s wedding and dance with such elegance, such poise, and such togetherness that I thought initially that they were professionals hired for the day. All the wear and tear of a long life disappeared and from afar only the balanced movement of two young souls dancing the dance of love. May they rest in peace.”
