He was predeceased by: his parents, Lizze Mae and John Wesley Townsend; his son Christopher L. Thomas; and his siblings, Anna Rebecca, Marie, Dr. John Townsend, Jr., Walter Lee Townsend, John Wesley Townsend III, Johnny Lee Townsend, Frank, James Hadley and James Mathis.
He is survived by: his children, Leroy, Jr. of Florida, Chad of Dillsburg and Lindsay of Atlanta Ga. He is also survived by son, seventeen grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.
