He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Springer and Margaret Springer (Royer); his son John Wayne Springer, Sr.; and his brother George Springer. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Pearson Springer (Lewis) of Gettysburg; his daughter Barbara Shelley (Robert) of Thurmont, MD; his stepchildren, Chere High of Jupiter, FL, Stephen Whiteman (Robin) of Gettysburg, PA, Lori Sandoe (Dave) of Biglerville, PA and Heather Flannery (Scott) of Plano, TX; his sisters, Janet Springer of Rockville, MD, Audrey Glass (Eric) of Emmitsburg, MD and Kathy Krom (John) of Laneville, VA; and his sister-in-law Mary Springer of Emmitsburg, MD.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
