He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick W. and Sophie Schwartz Spohrer, Sr.; and his significant other Anne Wittmer Spohrer. He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Woods of PhD, RN; his son-in-law John C. Woods; his granddaughter Jenn; his son-in-law Tommy Halloran of Nashville, TN; his grandson Brien Woods (Malina Manger) of Halethorpe, MD.; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Lucy and Tess Halloran.
