He was predeceased by: his parents, John Clancy and Lola Clancy (Lewis); and his brother John V. Clancy, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann O'Rourke; his children, Bonnie Kosiorek (Kyle), Shannon Clancy, Erin Cox (Daniel), Kaitlyn Hawthorne (Joseph) and Brianna Clancy; his stepson Doug Mixter; and his siblings, Lee Thomas (Rich), Jean Moore (Clancy), Peggy Clancy and Thomas Clancy. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
