He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles B. Nelson and Mary M. Easton Nelson; his sister Lois Fillmore; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Fillmore, Richard Eaton, Raymond Seeley and Sheila Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Laura J. Carpenter; his children, C. Dean Nelson (Charlene) of Genesee, Thomas M. Nelson (Dawn) of Ulysses and Carrie Lee Nelson of Vermont; and his siblings, Kathryn "Kay" Seeley of Troupsburg, NY, Audrey A. Eaton of Wellsville, NY and Donald Nelson of Whitesville, NY.
