It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth M. Schafer of Garrett, Pennsylvania, born in Bittinger, Maryland, who passed away on March 23, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter C. Krause and Olive L. Krause (Brenneman); her husband Carl W. Schafer; and her brothers, Robert and Joe Krause.
She is survived by: her children, David W. Schafer (Darlene) and Nita Johnson (David); her grandsons, Michael Johnson of Garrett and Stephen Johnson (Brittany) of Garrett; her brother William Krause (Dorothy); and her sister-in-law Geraldine Shaulis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
