He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Philip and Mary Philip (Nider); and his siblings, Samuel, Charles Philip and Ann Snyder.
He is survived by: his wife Blanche Berkley; and his children, John Philip, Jr., Samuel Philip (Connie), Jocelyn Shaffer (Gary), Nancy Platt (Robert), Douglas Philip (Brenda) and Larry Philip (Rebecca). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
