He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline (Hudak); and his parents, Edward J. Cardow and Emma McBride Cardow. He is survived by: his brother James Cardow (Bonnie); his sons, Edward (Karen), John (Sue Ann Rea) and Daniel (Ann); his grandchildren, Sarah (Mike Brumbaugh), Emily, Samantha, Allison, Mitchell, Jennifer and Nicholas; and his great grandchild Rylee Brumbaugh.
