It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward E. Spies of Gardners, Pennsylvania, born in Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Henry and Rose Spies (Longsdon); and his brothers, Patrick and William Spies. He is survived by: his children, Wayne Spies (Sheri) of Elizabethtown, Rebecca Cegielski (Chris) of Lake Jackson and Nathaniel Spies of Newville; his brother Robert Spies of Maryland; and his former wife Ruth Spies (Smith). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
