We are sad to announce that on November 17, 2023, William C. Irwin of Furlong, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Dawn Gidmark of Moorhead; his brother Robert A.; his daughters, Wendy, Bryn and Lark; his parents, Bob and Lydia; his former wife Susan Friezen of Edina; and his daughter Dawn.

In his final years, Bill found unexpected, yet profound joy in the bond he formed with Lincoln, the golden retriever who came into Bill and Dawn's home during the pandemic and remained at Bill's side until his final moments.

“I will always remember my cousin, William Chatfield Irwin. As the youngest of the Irwin cousins, “Billy” starred in mischief. As a young adult, he proudly served in the Marines. All his life, Bill truly cared for his family & friends, as evidenced in annual Christmas cards. In later years, Bill & I talked about our Chatfield and Irwin family history.
