She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry W. Dechant and Lucy Obenrider Dechant; her brother Paul; and her siblings-in-law, Victor Gilara, Dewayne Kaltenbach and Sally Dechant.

She is survived by: her siblings, John Dechant (Lorraine) of Meadville, James "Jim" Dechant of Fryburg, Martha Kaltenbach of Fryburg, Thomas (Kathleen) of Chargrin Falls, OH, Anna Rose Gilara of Venus and Dennis Dechant (Jody) of San Diego, CA.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Mary's honor may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
