He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Burgess and Ethel Burgess (Birdsall); his daughter Joan; and his siblings, Roscoe, Bruce, Leland, Esther, Mary and Bettie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, Don, Cathy and Connie; and his sister Bonnie. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
