It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn R. Hoak (Freeport, Pennsylvania), born in Clarion, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry F. Brooks and Mabel I. Brooks (Tice); her husband Clifford L. Hoak of Bairdford; her son David L. Hoak; her son-in-law Thomas Durst; and her siblings, Harry F. Brooks Jr., Robert Brooks, Infant Margaret Brooks, Catherine Vance and Mabel E. Walker.
She is survived by: her children, Clifford, Linda K. Durst of Freeport, Janet E. Hoak of Conover, NC, Karen R. Hoak of Sarver and Buffalo Twp; her daughter-in-law Karen L. Hoak of Greensburg; her grandchildren, David H. Hoak (Mary) of Pittsburgh, Christopher Hoak (Lori) of Bradenville, Jeffery Durst of Freeport, Paul Durst of Freeport and Erica Hoyle (Jeffrey) of Hickory, NC; her sister Helen J. Slagle of Knox; and her friend Reverend David Ritterpusch (Brenda) of York, PA.. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
