He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schafer and Reba Barry Schafer; his former wife Helen A. Bobby Schafer; his wife Anges Horn; and his brothers, William, Marshall and Malcolm Schafer.
He is survived by: his son Darryl Schafer (Cheryl) of White Haven; his grandchildren, Kirstin, Kaitlin and Faith; his son Jason Schafer (Kimberly) of White Haven; and his grandchildren, Richelle and Heather. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
