He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Pearl Mason Dunbar and Sadenwasser; his siblings, Charles, William and Mary Ellen Gallagher; his children, Shawn Mason and Dawn Mason; his grandsons, Garrett, Andrew and Johnny; his sister Margaret Graham (John); and his pet Rica. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews.
