He was predeceased by: his parents, H. Daniel Astheimer and Kathryn Astheimer (Brendlinger); his siblings, Gordon, Wesley, Wilmer, Donald, Gene Astheimer, Ruth Neeb and Thelma Sotter; his stepmother Anna Astheimer; and his close friend Elizabeth Millard (McGee).
He is survived by: his son Jay Eugene Astheimer (Linda) of Pen Argyl; and his half-sister Linda K. Miller. He is also survived by two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
