He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sherman and Hattie Elizabeth Burk (Young); his daughter Anne Marie; and his siblings, Sherman, Glenn, Clifford, John "Jack", Dan, Margaretta Crawford, Eva Reynolds, Esther Schell, Helen McCarty, Lucy Lepley and Isabelle Shay.
He is survived by: his pets, Tillie, Ellsey and Nell; his wife Donna Lee; his children, Linda Wile of Cochranton, Leonard Burk Jr. (Becky) of Cochranton, Lynea Carson (Kevin) of Tennessee and Lorie Schrecengost (Dave) of Cochranton; his grandchildren, Leigh Martin (Joe) of Tennessee, Cody Carson (Ashley) of Cochranton, Jesse (Jessica) of Tennessee, Tyler Schrecengost of Cochranton and Derek Schrecengost of Brighton; and his stepgrandsons, Peter Dilley and Michael Dilley of Franklin. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
