It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George B. Morda of Ford City, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. Morda and Mary Morda (Pytel); and his siblings, Edward Morda, Robert "Bob" Morda, William "Willy" Morda, Hedwig "Yudge" Trop, Theresa "Tesh" Peresie and Jennie Recney.

He is survived by: his wife Mimi Morda (Schrecengost); his children, Damon Morda (Courtney Cogley) and Babette Kane (Mark) of Kittanning; and his grandsons, Maddox Shaffer and Rowan Shaffer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In 2020, at almost 90 years of age, George was forced into retirement when Covid-19 led to the closure of many restaurants, including The Cadet, his most beloved passion.

I have many fond memories of George, seeing him at the Cadet many times, visiting with him at the Schrecengost reunion and enjoying the chicken, which he also brought. George al provided the champagne for my wedding shower which was held in his banquet facility. A wonderful man.”
