He is survived by: his wife Laurie Banyay Cowin; his sons, Landon Scott and Bryce Forrest; his parents, James S. Cowin (Gail) and Vicky L. Honkus (Edward); his brother Jeffrey S. Cowin; his stepsisters, Sara Malo (Jona) and Martha Stromann (Thomas); his parents-in-law, Dan and Joan Banyay; and his brother-in-law Gregory Banyay (Jennifer). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
