She was predeceased by: her parents, George Dixon and Myrtle Dixon; her husband William C. "Bill" Hicks, Sr.; and her siblings, Boyd, Gerald, Elinor, Eugene, Richard, Melvin and Susannah.
She is survived by: her son Dennis L. Hicks (Jean); her stepson William C. "Bucky" Hicks, Jr.; her siblings, Harold Dixon, George "Geordie" Dixon and Sharon Robertson; and her grandchildren, David Hicks, Jamie Jones (Hicks) and Tiffany Motley (Hicks). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
