He was predeceased by : his parents, John Wesley Gunning and Mary Seybert (Gunning) of Virginia; his grandchild Maleena Gunning; his brother Jerry Gunning; his sister-in-law Diane Brosius; his step-father Leland "Abie" Seybert; and his mother-in-law Mildred Shofestall.
He is survived by : his wife, Lisa Shofestall; his sons, Eric Gunning, Nate Gunning and Jimmy Gunning; his sister Vicki Ellin (Bill); his grandson Deacon Gunning; and his siblings-in-law, John Shofestall and Debra Filson (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
