He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter C. Elder and Pearl Confer Elder; his children, Kimberly, Joyce, Joseph, Kevin Elder and Donald Elder, Jr.; his stepdaughter Allison Beary; his son-in-law James Conner; his siblings, Lillie Stovall, Dorothy Elder, Richard Elder, Leonard Elder and Chuck Elder; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Elder and Martin Ericson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou "Fred" Beck; his children, Bambi Elder of Colorado, Ruth Neely (Dell) of Seneca, Kay Rossey of Strattanville, Lucinda Westre (Darrel) of Wyoming, Gerald Elder of Corsica, Vicki Elder of Strattanville, David Elder (Kathy) of Strattanville, Thomas Elder (Jeanne) of Strattanville and Dorothy McFall of Corsica; his stepson William Beary of Pittsburgh; his pet Jackson; his son-in-law Mark Rossey; his sisters, Ruth Ericson of New Mexico and Carolyn Skinner (Bob) of Arizona; and his brother-in-law Morrie Lawrence (Linda) of Warren. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
