She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Hayward DeVoe and Emma Gretta DeVoe (Moore); her husband John "Jack" M. Smithson; and her daughter Barbara S. Wagner. She is survived by: her children, John Smithson (Diane), Denise Wolfe (Randy), Mary Jane Gorrell (Bill), Debra Peters and Michael Smithson (Lori); and her sister Betty Grein (DeVoe). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
