He was predeceased by: his former spouse Clair Spencer (Glenn); his parents, Joseph Bruce, Sr. and Guida L. Spencer (Faircloth); his daughters, Beverly Diane Herman and Deborah Ann Murphy; his brother Robert Spencer; his daughter-in-law Amy Beth Spencer (Johnston); and his great grandchild Kendall McWilliams.
He is survived by: his wife Claire; his sons, Jeffrey Alan Spencer (Patricia M.) of Fawn Grove, PA, Dean Spencer and Barry Lee Spencer; and his grandchildren, Jill Sprenkle, Julie Busser, Carrie McWilliams, Laurie Knisely, Brenda Lyle, Terry Murphy Jr., Danielle Spencer, Amber Spencer, Marissa Milliner and Sarah Spencer. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
