He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Somerset and Berthel Taylor Somerset; his brothers, Willard Somerset (Audrey) of Harrisburg, PA and Carl Somerset of Sharon; his wife Charlotte; his son Ernest L. Somerset Jr.; and his siblings, Eric Somerset and Delores Somerset.

He is survived by: his children, Arelette Wilson (Norman) of Farrell, Lezlie Somerset Pope of Farrell, Corwin Somerset of Farrell, Jermaine Somerset of Virginia and Yauna Hyatt of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Symone, Markell Somerset, Alonzo Scott and Jordann Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Loralita and DeMaryius Scott.
