She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Checker and Lillian Checker (Kretas); her husband Chris Kounas; and her sisters, Renee Wilke of Orange Park, FL and Carole Joyce of Phoenix, AZ..
She is survived by: her children, Melany Williams (Peter) of San Francisco, CA, Valerie Sponseller of Harrisburg and David Kounas (Shanna) of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Melany, Christian Sponseller, Ashton and Ethan Kounas; and her brother Nicholas Checker of New London, CT.
Due to social distancing restrictions, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
