He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Onest and Anna Onest (Jafko); his siblings, Michael D. Onest, John P. Onest and Eleanor H. Krause (Onest); and his siblings-in-law, Paul Krause and Arlene Onest.

He is survived by: his brother Joseph D. Onest; and his sister-in-law Lois A. Onest. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
