He was predeceased by: his parents, John Z. Staszak and Josephine Staszak (Gajewski); and his siblings, Carol and Joseph. He is survived by: his wife Bonita "Bonnie" Staszak (Bonadio); his son John Staszak, Jr.; his grandsons, Adam and Ethan Staszak; his sisters, Sharon David (Don) and Noreen Pociej (Eric); and his brother-in-law Bob Bonadio (Gretchen).
