He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace K. Bierer and Alice Williamson Bierer; his siblings, Glenn Bierer, Eleanor Kyle, Margaret O'Hara and Alice Dore; and his daughter-in-law Susan Bierer (Andrews).
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Anderson Bierer; his children, Barbara DiFilippo (Ronald), Dana Bierer (Mary), Bradley Bierer (Pamela) and Lynda Behan (Patrick); and his siblings, Virginia Boland and Donald Bierer. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Erie VA Medical Center, 135 E. 38th St., Erie, PA 16504.
