He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaylord Kester and Dorothy Kester (Gohlke); his sons, Brian Robert and Dale William; and his sister Gayanne Nieratko.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kathi" Kester (White); his daughter Amy Miller (Andy) of Fairview; his granddaughter Brittany Dingle (Alex); his brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Nieratko; his cousin Kent Gohlke of Michigan; and his pet Otis. He is also survived by two nieces, one nephew.
